Important Information - FLU IMMUNISATION
Further flu immunistion clinics have been organised into December. Please contact reception for an appointment asap.
Patients who are 65 years old or over, an unpaid carer or have DIABETES, CHRONIC LUNG DISEASE, ASTHMA (on steroid inhaler), HEART DISEASE, LIVER, KIDNEY or NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE, STROKE/TIA and those who are PREGNANT OR IMMUNOSUPPRESSED (due to disease or treatment). HOUSEHOLD CONTACTS OF IMMUNOSUPPRESSED PATIENTS are invited for flu immunisation. If you are in doubt please ‘phone the surgery.
This year we have nearly 2000 patients to immunise as well as those who are due immunisation for pneumonia, shingles and pre school children’s nasal flu vaccination. This is a huge workload in addition to the busy day to day workload that general practice experiences. We have already immunised around 950 patients and thank those who attended on the Saturday morning sessions. These sessions are set up to help us cope with the workload. We will now be sending letters to all those who have not yet attended and hope you will be able to make an appointment.
Please contact reception to organise a time for your immunisation.
If you decide that you really do not wish this immunisation, please can you contact the surgery to let us know? You can, of course, change your mind and attend at a later date – but to maximise benefit, the earlier you are immunised the better.
We’ve packed our website full of useful information in what we hope is an easy to use format with the added benefit of several online functions. If you’re new to the area, have a look at our opening times, download a registration form and come and see us.

Over the years we have had numerous donations to the Community Donations Account. This money is used to purchase equipment to help with patient care and sometimes this means that patients do not have to go to hospital as can be treated at home. If you have been given a piece of equipment it is planned that this loan is for a limited period of time eg nebuliser or Omron BP machine. PLEASE RETURN THESE PIECES OF EQUIPMENT TO THE SURGERY AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.We always have patients waiting to use these items and to keep them for a prolonged length of time means that treatment is being delayed for others. Unreturned items will be invoiced to the patient.
We would like to thank the many people involved in providing the practice with donations towards the cost of equipment for the care of our patients. We would also like to thank the ladies and customers of Kemnay Bargain Box for their generous donation once again this year. Our latest 'big' purchase has been an ECG machine which stores the ECG report into the patient record. Although we had some teething troubles with this equipment, it's now up and running very well. Thank you from all at Kemnay Surgery, your donations are greatly appreciated.
Please be aware that all telephone calls to and from the surgery are recorded and may be used for both training and medicolegal purposes.
