GROUP 2 – Saturday at Kemnay Surgery - 8th November 2014
All patients who do not fall into any of the categories of Group 1, but who are 65 YEARS OLD OR OVER (born before 31/03/50) and UNPAID CARERS. An unpaid carer is a person of any age who cares for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill. Carers working in nursing homes or for the social services will have to see their management regarding vaccination.
The District Nursing Team will visit housebound patients to give them their vaccination as in previous years.
Influenza can be a serious illness if you are elderly or suffering from other conditions, and the vaccination greatly reduces the chance of catching it.
If you fall into any of the above categories we would like to invite you to have the vaccination.
In order to help the process to run as smoothly as possible we would like you to attend on the relevant day if possible, and take note of the following:
Surname beginning with
A , B
C, D, E, F
G, H, I, J, K, L
Mc, Mac, M
N, O, P, Q, R
S, T, U, V
W, X, Y, Z
Please be aware that you will be required to remain at the surgery for at least 10 minutes following vaccination in case you develop a reaction.

Over the years we have had numerous donations to the Community Donations Account. This money is used to purchase equipment to help with patient care and sometimes this means that patients do not have to go to hospital as can be treated at home. If you have been given a piece of equipment it is planned that this loan is for a limited period of time eg nebuliser or Omron BP machine. PLEASE RETURN THESE PIECES OF EQUIPMENT TO THE SURGERY AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.We always have patients waiting to use these items and to keep them for a prolonged length of time means that treatment is being delayed for others. Unreturned items will be invoiced to the patient.
We would like to thank the many people involved in providing the practice with donations towards the cost of equipment for the care of our patients. We would also like to thank the ladies and customers of Kemnay Bargain Box for their generous donation once again this year. Our latest 'big' purchase has been an ECG machine which stores the ECG report into the patient record. Although we had some teething troubles with this equipment, it's now up and running very well. Thank you from all at Kemnay Surgery, your donations are greatly appreciated.
Please be aware that all telephone calls to and from the surgery are recorded and may be used for both training and medicolegal purposes.
